Research and Literature
While learning a second language has its many benefits at any age, the earlier a person learns a language, the better their ability will be to acquire and comprehend a foreign language.
Research indicates that children who are exposed to a foreign language at a young age achieve higher levels of cognitive development at an earlier age (Bialystok & Hakuta, 1994).

About Señora Hagan
My name is Lauren Hagan and I am the Spanish teacher at Ada/Thornapple Elementary. I am currently in my 7th year of teaching and 5th year with FHPS. I earned my MA from Michigan State University and my BA from Western Michigan University, where I had the opportunity to study abroad in Santander, Spain.
I have a passion for languages and cultures, as well as helping children learn and grow. I believe each child should be treated as if they were your own, with respect and understanding. With this, I am excited to continue to help guide and support them throughout their journey!
